Open Mouth, Insert Foot!
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment. Will Rogers
They say you are always learning from your mistakes. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life so I guess I've got lots of learning. Yet, I believe I keep making some of the mistakes over and over, so I am not quite sure what they say about that.
Regardless, I do find that I have a tendency to put my foot in my mouth over and over again. I'm always saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It's frustrating. People don't seem to hold it against me too much because I've got a good heart. I gather that still matters.
I'm a terrible listener too and I even lose track of my stories when I'm telling them. I'm just getting old. It used to bother me more, now I just shrug my shoulders and continue on. I'm rambling now like I often do. These behaviors of mine really annoy my next door neighbor. He's always trying to change me for the better.
The other day, my neighbor showed me an app called BabbleStash. It lets me record my thoughts. In particular, it has a question in the voice diary asking what could have gone better today. At the end of each day, I record what happened. I then also listen to my Stash to see the overall trend of what I've been saying for the previous week. My neighbor this time is right! BabbleStash will help me learn more from my mistakes to make me a better person.
BabbleStash is a critically acclaimed iPhone app that captures the essence of people and lets them share it. Selfies, Snapchats, only express the visual moment; but not what people are truly thinking or feeling. BabbleStash uses scientifically tested questions to elicit feelings, memories, ideas, goals, and dreams and easily records the responses to either be kept secret or shared.
